Auto/Ped Accident

Auto/Pedestrian Accident Update

I was recently involved in an accident where a car struck me while I was crossing the street in a crosswalk, following the traffic signals. Fortunately, my toddler was safely buckled into the stroller. Today, the insurance adjuster reached out to collect details about my medical expenses and treatments.

My question is: should I prepare a list of items that were damaged during the incident for our next conversation? Additionally, would it be wise to consult a lawyer regarding this situation? Any advice would be appreciated!

  1. I’m really sorry to hear about your accident, but I’m glad to hear that your toddler is okay. It’s definitely a good idea to write a list of everything that was damaged in the accident, including any medical expenses, property damage (like your stroller), and anything else you think might be relevant. This will help you keep track of your losses and provide the adjuster with all the necessary information.

As for whether you should get a lawyer, it can often be beneficial, especially in cases involving injuries. A lawyer can help you understand your rights, negotiate on your behalf with the insurance company, and ensure that you receive fair compensation for your damages and suffering. Many personal injury lawyers offer free consultations, so it might be worth reaching out to a few to see if they can help you with your case. Make sure to take care of yourself and your child during this time!
