Car Trade-In Inquiry
Hi everyone, I have a quick question regarding trading in my car. Three years ago, I filed an insurance claim, which has since been resolved, but I never got the repairs done. A small crack on the front driver’s side bumper (thanks to an unfortunate encounter with a raccoon) slipped my mind. It’s not a major issue. Can I still trade in my car as it is, or might my insurance company have any concerns about the unaddressed damage?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hello!
You should be perfectly fine to trade in your car with that minor crack on the bumper. Since your insurance claim is closed, they typically won’t pursue you for not getting the repair done, especially if it was a small claim. However, keep in mind that the condition of your car will impact its trade-in value. It’s often a good idea to disclose any damage to the dealer during the trade-in process so that you can have a fair negotiation.
Good luck with your trade-in!
