CCC options?

CCC Options Update:

I wanted to share some insights from my car’s CCC report regarding the options listed:

  • Aluminum/Alloy Wheels: Not Present – $200
  • 20″ Or Larger Wheels: Reported + $400

Despite my wheels being alloy, the report indicates they are ‘not present.’ I reached out to the claims manager for clarification, and their response was that since the 20” option has a higher value, they are attributing that amount to my claim, which includes the alloy wheels as part of the package. This reasoning seems flawed because if I had smaller wheels, I wouldn’t receive the additional $400, but I would still qualify for the $200 for the alloys, leading to a net difference of $200 in either scenario.

This situation isn’t related to my insurance company, and they advised me that my only recourse is to file a subrogation claim, as filing through them is considered a ‘privilege.’ I’ve also contacted my state department of insurance and am awaiting their response.

  1. It sounds like you’re dealing with a frustrating situation regarding the CCC report on your car. It’s understandable to be confused about the way the options and values are being presented. Here are a few points to consider that might help you clarify things:

    1. Clarify the Value Structure: It seems like there’s a discrepancy in how the options are being valued. You might want to ask for a detailed explanation of how they arrived at the valuation for both the alloy wheels and the larger wheels. Specifically, ask if the quality of the larger wheels somehow affects the assessment of the alloy wheels.

    2. Documentation: Keep a record of all communication you’ve had with the claims manager and any other parties involved. This information could be useful if you decide to escalate your claim or file a formal complaint.

    3. Subrogation Process: If you choose to go down the subrogation route, make sure you understand what that entails and if it’s worth the effort. Subrogation is typically used when one party is seeking compensation from another, usually in an insurance context.

    4. Consult with Insurance Department: Since you’ve reached out to your state’s department of insurance, it’s good to wait for their response. They may be able to provide insight into the process and if the valuation on the CCC report is standard practice.

    5. Seek Expert Help: If the issue continues to be unresolved, consider consulting with an auto appraiser or a legal professional who specializes in insurance claims. They may provide valuable insights or assistance in advocating for your case.

It’s important to ensure that you receive a fair valuation for your vehicle and its features, so don’t hesitate to advocate for yourself. Good luck, and I hope you get the clarity and resolution you need!
