Insurance is totaling my 2018 Ram 1500

Insurance has declared my 2018 Ram 1500 a total loss. I received an estimate from them for the repairs, and they’ve quoted $18,200. However, they only spent 18 minutes assessing the damage. Does this seem suspicious to anyone else, or am I reading too much into it?

Edit: I’m really disappointed that they’re totaling it out. I was genuinely excited to have that truck.

  1. It’s completely understandable to feel bummed about your truck being totaled, especially if you were excited about it. It’s frustrating when the situation feels rushed and you’re left questioning the insurance process.

It’s worth considering a few things: insurance adjusters often have a set time to assess the damage, and they rely on their experience to make estimates based on visible damage. However, if you believe there might be more extensive issues that weren’t accounted for, you could consider getting a second opinion from a trusted mechanic or repair shop.

Also, you can discuss the estimate with your insurance company to understand their decision better. Sometimes, repairs can be more costly depending on hidden damages that aren’t immediately visible. It might feel overwhelming, but clarity on the situation could help you feel a bit better about it. Wishing you the best in navigating this!
