Kemper Auto Insurance Worth?

Is Kemper Auto Insurance a Good Option?

I just got a 2024 Honda Civic and turned 22 today. I’ve been searching for auto insurance, but most companies are quoting me between $400 to $500 monthly, with initial payments ranging from $1,000 to $1,200. Even on my parents’ plan, I’m looking at $430 a month. I realize this is due to my less than three years of driving experience and the fact that it’s a new vehicle.

I recently received a call from Freeway, and they connected me with a broker who offered me a policy through Kemper/Infinity. They quoted me $293 a month, which seems a lot more affordable, but I’m unfamiliar with their reputation or reliability. I’m concerned I might be making a mistake by going with them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  1. It sounds like you’re navigating a challenging situation, especially as a new driver looking for affordable insurance. Kemper and Infinity do tend to offer lower rates for certain drivers, particularly those who might face higher premiums elsewhere. However, it’s essential to consider a few factors before making your decision:

    1. Coverage Options: Ensure that the policy you’re being offered has adequate coverage. Sometimes lower premiums can mean higher deductibles or less comprehensive coverage.

    2. Customer Reviews: Look up customer reviews and ratings for Kemper and Infinity. This can give you insight into their customer service, claims process, and overall reliability.

    3. State Regulations: Since insurance companies operate differently in each state, check how these companies fare in your state. Some states have specific regulations that can affect coverage and pricing.

    4. Financial Stability: Research the financial stability of the company. A company with good financial ratings is more likely to pay claims promptly.

    5. Policy Terms: Carefully read through the policy terms, including any exclusions or limitations that might catch you off guard later.

    6. Independent Agents: If you’re uncertain, consider consulting an independent insurance agent. They can provide comparisons and help you find the best value based on your needs.

Lastly, remember that insurance rates can change. As you gain more experience and keep a clean driving record, you may find better options in the future. Always keep your options open and don’t hesitate to shop around. Good luck!
