Replacing a tire using insurance

Replacing a tire with insurance

I’m currently with Hagerty Insurance, and I’m wondering if this applies to other insurance providers as well. I have a spare tire on hand, but I need my damaged tire replaced. It’s in pretty rough shape, with some wires starting to show. Will my insurance send someone out to replace the tire?

  1. It’s great that you’re considering using your insurance for your tire replacement. Typically, insurance policies may cover tire replacements under specific circumstances, like if the damage is due to an accident or road hazard, depending on your coverage.

However, for routine tire replacement due to wear and tear, most insurance companies, including Hagerty, wouldn’t cover that cost. They usually won’t send someone out to replace just a tire unless it’s part of a roadside assistance program, which might help if you’re stranded.

I recommend checking your policy details or giving Hagerty a call to clarify what’s covered. They can provide specific guidance on your options for replacing the tire and whether there are any out-of-pocket expenses. Safe driving!
