The Journey is Almost Over
On January 21, 2024, my wife and I were involved in a serious accident when someone ran a stop sign just as we entered the intersection. I lost consciousness, and both of us were rushed to the hospital by ambulance. I was diagnosed with a concussion and sustained internal damage to my right knee, while my wife suffered injuries to her vertebrae and is scheduled for spinal fusion surgery in March.
Now, nearly a year later, our lawyer has filed the demand letter. Thankfully, the insurance of the at-fault driver has already covered the repairs to our vehicle, which amounted to over $10,000.
We’re feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. While I know no amount of money can truly compensate for the pain we’ve both endured this past year, it’s encouraging to think that we might be receiving something soon. Our lawyer is feeling optimistic as well, which is a good sign.
I’m just venting here—neither of us has family nearby to discuss this with, so I wanted to share our experience. I’ll keep you updated once we hear back with an offer. The lawyer anticipates a response by March 18th.
I’m really sorry to hear about the accident and everything you and your wife have been through this past year. It sounds like it’s been a tough journey, both physically and emotionally. It’s completely understandable to feel a mix of excitement and nervousness about the potential outcomes; you both deserve some relief after such a challenging experience.
It’s great that your lawyer is optimistic, and it’s good to have someone in your corner during this process. While no amount of money can truly compensate for the pain and difficulties you’ve faced, hopefully, any settlement can provide some peace of mind and help you both move forward.
Remember to take care of yourselves during this time, and don’t hesitate to share updates or lean on this community for support. Wishing you both a smooth healing process and the best possible outcome with your case!
