Will I be dropped?
Last year, I filed a claim just 20 days after my policy started when my car was broken into. Now, almost a year later, it’s been bumped into while parked, resulting in minor damage to the rear passenger door. Should I report this to GEICO, or is it risky given my previous claim?
It’s understandable to worry about potential consequences after submitting claims, especially if you’ve had one recently. While I can’t speak for GEICO’s specific policies, generally, insurance companies consider a range of factors when deciding whether to drop a customer, including the frequency and severity of claims.
If the damage is minor and you believe it may not exceed your deductible, it might be worth considering not reporting it. However, if you do decide to report it, be transparent about the situation, as they may appreciate your honesty.
It’s best to check your policy and possibly contact GEICO directly to discuss your concerns and get their advice on how to proceed. That way, you can make an informed decision based on your policy’s terms and your individual circumstances.
