Is it worth shopping around for insurance?
In Pennsylvania, my insurance increased from $122 to $144. It was $122 for the first 6 months, then renewed at the same rate, and now it’s gone up to $144. I think it might be best to stick with my current provider for now since the increase isn’t too drastic. However, if it goes up again at the next renewal, I’ll consider exploring other options.
I’ve previously been approved for NJM, but right now, AmFam through Costco is the better deal for me. If AmFam becomes too expensive in the future, NJM might be a strong alternative. (I currently have 150/300K coverage with collision and comprehensive.) What do you think?
It sounds like you’re taking a sensible approach by considering your options! If your current insurance only increased by $22 after a year, it’s not a huge jump, and sticking with AmFam for now seems reasonable. Comparing rates and coverage is always a good move, especially as you approach your next renewal.
NJM is definitely worth a look since you’ve been approved before, and if you find that AmFam’s rates continue to rise, it might be time to make that switch. Just make sure to compare the coverage details, not just the price, to ensure you’re getting the best value for your money. It’s always better to be proactive rather than waiting until the last minute. Keep an eye on the market, and you should be able to find a policy that fits your needs at a price that works for you!
