CCC options?
Here are some highlights from my car’s CCC report:
- Aluminum/Alloy Wheels: Not Present – $200
- 20″ or Larger Wheels: Reported + $400
Although my car has alloy wheels, the claims manager marked them as “not present.” When I inquired, the only explanation I received was that the value of the 20” wheels supersedes the alloy wheels since they are bundled together in the $400. This reasoning seems flawed to me—if I didn’t have the 20” wheels, I wouldn’t receive the additional $400 but would still get $200 for the alloys. Both scenarios would net to $200.
This matter does not involve my insurance company directly, and they mentioned that my only option is to pursue subrogation, which they described as a “privilege” to file through them. I’ve also reached out to my state department of insurance and am currently awaiting their response.
It sounds like you’re dealing with a frustrating situation regarding the CCC report and the discrepancies in your car’s options. I can understand why you’d want clarity on why the alloy wheels are marked as not present. The reasoning provided by the claims manager does seem a bit contradictory, especially when it comes to how the values are assigned.
If you feel like you’re not receiving a satisfactory answer, continuing to push back is definitely warranted. It might be helpful to request a detailed breakdown of how they value the options on reports like these. Also, since you’ve reached out to your state department of insurance, keep records of all communications and responses you receive; this could be useful if you decide to escalate further.
In the meantime, consider gathering any evidence or documentation that supports your claim about the alloy wheels. You might even want to check if your dealership can provide any information regarding the standard options for your car model. I hope you get a resolution soon!
