DIRECT AUTO INSURANCE

DIRECT AUTO INSURANCE

Hey everyone,

I’m in the process of getting direct auto insurance and they want me to specify how many drivers I want to cover. I live with two other licensed adults, but I have no plans for them to drive my car. Since I’m getting a Miata, there’s no way they’d fit! Should I include them in the coverage anyway? Will I run into any issues with direct auto if I don’t?

  1. Hi there!

It’s great that you’re getting a Miata; that’s a fun car! Regarding your insurance with Direct Auto, it’s generally a good idea to list all licensed residents of your household, even if you don’t plan on letting them drive your vehicle. Insurers typically want a full picture of who has access to your car, and failing to disclose all potential drivers can lead to issues later on, such as claim denials or policy cancellations.

If you’re really concerned about them not driving at all, you could discuss this directly with your insurance agent. They might be able to guide you on how to list them in a way that aligns with your intentions, or explain how it affects your policy and premiums. Transparency is usually the best policy when it comes to insurance.

    Hope that helps!
