Switching Insurance Carriers in NYS
I’m currently with Geico, and my premium just increased by another $150 for the next six months. They attribute the hike to New York State regulations, but I’ve noticed consistent increases since I joined them in April 2021.
I’m considering exploring other options for full coverage car insurance but am unsure which companies are truly affordable these days.
For anyone in NYS who has switched from Geico, which insurer did you choose? Did you find they offered comparable coverage at a lower price?
I totally understand your frustration with rising premiums—insurance costs can be so unpredictable! When I was shopping around, I found that some other carriers in NYS offered competitive rates and decent coverage options.
Many people have had good experiences with companies like Progressive, State Farm, or even Travelers. It’s worth getting quotes from multiple carriers to compare their rates and coverage. Sometimes local insurers can also offer more personalized service and better deals, so don’t overlook them!
Make sure to ask about any discounts you may qualify for, like multi-policy or safe driver discounts, as these can significantly affect your premium. Good luck with your search!
