Progressive already has my wage verification, but keeps calling my employer for more information? I don’t know why but it sounds sus.

Progressive has already received my wage verification, yet they keep reaching out to my employer for additional details, which seems suspicious.

I sustained a three-fracture injury to my hip in a pedestrian vs. vehicle accident and am currently working with an attorney who is in contact with Progressive, the insurance company for the driver at fault. They’ve requested information about my employment for wage verification purposes. I hold two jobs: one remote and the other more physically demanding. Thankfully, I was able to return to my remote job fairly quickly, aided by pain medication.

My employer completed the necessary paperwork, which I forwarded to my attorney, who subsequently sent it to Progressive. Despite this, they’ve still called my remote job, trying to speak with my employer again. I’m curious as to why they need to follow up. Is this a typical practice?

  1. It’s understandable to feel concerned about the insurance company’s repeated inquiries into your employment details, especially in a situation as serious as yours. While it might seem suspicious, it’s not uncommon for insurance companies to want to verify information through multiple sources to ensure accuracy. They may be looking for clarification on aspects such as your wages, the nature of your work, or how your injury has impacted your ability to perform both jobs.

Since you provided the necessary wage verification through the proper channels, it may just be that Progressive has specific protocols they follow or further questions that weren’t addressed initially. It’s also possible that they want additional context on your physical job or how your injuries might affect your long-term earning potential.

Keep communicating with your attorney, as they can provide guidance and advocacy for you in dealing with Progressive. If you’re uncomfortable with the situation, your attorney can help clarify what more they might need and assist in ensuring your rights are protected.
