Subject: Question About Renewal Policy – Missing Vehicle
Hi everyone,
I have a quick question about my Progressive car insurance renewal. It looks like one of my cars didn’t carry over to the new policy. I won’t be able to reach customer service until Monday since it’s the weekend, but I’m curious if anyone has experienced this before.
I recently added a 2020 vehicle to my policy alongside my 2016 vehicle, and I received an ID card showing both vehicles covered. However, when I checked the new ID card after our policy renewed on the 12th, the 2020 vehicle is missing.
Does anyone have an idea why this might have happened?
Thanks in advance for your help!
It sounds like a frustrating situation! There could be a few reasons why your 2020 vehicle didn’t carry over to the renewal policy. Here are some possibilities to consider:
Timing of Addition: If you added the 2020 vehicle shortly before the renewal, it might not have been processed in time for the new policy. It’s possible the system didn’t update in time to include it in the renewal documentation.
Coverage Type: Check to ensure that the type of coverage you selected for the 2020 vehicle is consistent with what is required by Progressive or any terms you might have agreed to during the addition of the vehicle.
Policy Limits or Underwriting Issues: Sometimes, underwriters may need to review a new vehicle, especially if it’s considerably different in value or risk compared to your other car. This could lead to it not being included in your renewal policy automatically.
Administrative Error: Mistakes can happen in any system. It might simply be an oversight where the 2020 vehicle was inadvertently left off the renewal documents.
Since it’s the weekend, it’s best to wait for customer service on Monday for clarification and to ensure that your vehicle is properly covered. Be sure to have your policy details handy when you contact them to make the process smoother. Good luck!
