Progressive no longer writes umbrella policy in Nevada.

Progressive has discontinued offering umbrella policies in Nevada, and I just received a letter confirming this. I currently have both my auto and home insurance with them. Does anyone have any recommendations? The original reasons for purchasing the umbrella policy still apply.

  1. I’m sorry to hear that about your umbrella policy! Since Progressive no longer offers it in Nevada, here are a few suggestions:

    1. Shop Around: Look for other insurance companies that provide umbrella policies in your area. Many reputable insurers offer similar coverage, so it’s worth comparing rates and terms.

    2. Talk to Your Agent: If you have an insurance agent, discuss your needs with them. They can help you find a comparable policy from a different insurer.

    3. Consider Increasing Limits: If you’re mainly looking for extra liability protection, check if you can increase the liability limits on your auto or home insurance policies. This might give you more coverage without needing a separate umbrella policy.

    4. Evaluate Your Coverage Needs: Reassess your coverage needs and consider if you can combine other policies for better rates or additional coverage.

    5. Look for Multi-Policy Discounts: If you find a new provider, see if they offer discounts for bundling multiple types of insurance, like auto and home.

    6. Request Personalized Quotes: When reaching out to new insurers, make sure to request personalized quotes to ensure you’re getting the correct coverage for your situation.

Remember to thoroughly read any new policy to ensure it provides the necessary coverage you need. Good luck!
