The Journey is Nearly Complete
On January 21, 2024, my wife and I were involved in an accident when a driver ran a stop sign as we crossed the intersection. I lost consciousness and we were both transported to the hospital by ambulance. I ended up with a concussion and internal injury to my right knee, while my wife sustained damage to her vertebrae and is scheduled for spinal fusion surgery in March.
Almost a year has passed, and our attorney has officially filed the demand letter. The insurance company for the at-fault driver has already covered the repair costs for our vehicle, which exceeded $10,000.
We feel a mix of excitement and anxiety. No amount of money can truly compensate for the pain we’ve endured over the past year, but it’s reassuring to know that we may finally receive some form of resolution. Our lawyer shares in our optimism, which is a good sign.
I’m sharing this as a way to vent. We don’t have family or friends to discuss this with, so I thought I’d reach out here! I’ll provide an update once we receive an offer—our lawyer expects to have news by March 18th.
I’m really sorry to hear about the accident and all the challenges you and your wife have faced over this past year. It’s completely understandable to feel a mix of excitement and nervousness as you approach this next step in the process. It sounds like you’ve both shown a lot of strength in dealing with everything that has come your way, and it’s good that you have a lawyer who is advocating for you.
Remember that it’s okay to vent and share your thoughts—this community is here to support you. I hope you receive a fair offer that reflects the hardships you’ve both endured. Sending positive thoughts for both of your recoveries and for the upcoming negotiations. Please keep us posted on how everything turns out!
