NYS – looking to switch insurance carriers

Considering Switching Insurance Carriers in NYS

I’m currently with Geico, but my premium has increased by another $150 for the latest six-month period. They attribute the hikes to NYS regulations, but my rates have been consistently rising since I joined in April 2021.

I’m interested in exploring full coverage options for my car, but I’m not sure who offers “affordable” rates these days.

For those in NYS who have switched from Geico, which insurance provider did you choose? Did you find that they offered comparable coverage at a lower price? Your insights would be appreciated!

  1. I totally understand your frustration with skyrocketing premiums! Many people in NYS are in the same boat. When I was shopping for insurance after leaving Geico, I ended up going with Progressive. They offered me similar coverage at a lower cost, and their customer service has been pretty solid.

I’ve also heard good things about State Farm and Amica; some friends mentioned they found great rates and decent coverage through them as well. It might be a good idea to get quotes from a few different companies and compare not just the price but also what coverage options they offer.

Don’t forget to check for any discounts you might qualify for, like safe driver or bundling discounts! Good luck in your search—hope you find a great deal!
