$400 Quote???

I’m 23 and ready to buy my first car and get my own insurance policy. Until now, my car has been registered under my mom’s policy along with her and my sister’s cars. The first quote I received from Carvana is nearly $400 a month! I couldn’t believe it—not when my roommate, who has crashed every car she’s owned, only pays $200. I’ve been driving since I was 16, have never had an at-fault accident, and only received one speeding ticket in the last five years. This was just an online quote based on a quiz; I haven’t even spoken to anyone yet. Seriously, what is going on???

  1. It sounds really frustrating to get such a high quote, especially when you have a clean driving record. Many factors can influence insurance rates, including your age, location, and the type of car you’re looking to buy. Insurance companies often see younger drivers as higher risk, which can drive up the premiums, even for those without a history of accidents.

I recommend calling a few different insurance companies to get personalized quotes and explain your situation. You might also want to consider getting quoted for a different car, if that’s an option, since some vehicles are cheaper to insure than others. Additionally, look into any discounts you might qualify for, like good student discounts or bundling policies.

It’s definitely worth shopping around to find the best rate! Don’t be discouraged—keep looking for the best options for you.
