lapse of coverage with Geico

Question About Lapse of Coverage with Geico

I have a question regarding Geico’s application. It asks how long I’ve gone without a lapse in coverage, but the only option I can select is 11 years. I’ve never owned a car and have consistently maintained coverage, so should I just choose the 11-year option? There have been times when I didn’t own a car (like when I used a company vehicle or took public transport), but as I understand it, a lapse in coverage usually refers to having a car but not being insured.

Thanks for your help!

  1. It looks like you’re in a bit of a tricky situation with the Geico application. You’re correct that a lapse in coverage typically refers to a situation where you own a vehicle but don’t have insurance for it. Since you’ve never owned a car and have consistently had coverage when you needed it, you should not select 11 years if that option doesn’t accurately represent your situation.

It might be best to reach out to Geico’s customer service directly for clarification. They can provide guidance on how to accurately report your insurance history based on your unique circumstances. It’s important to ensure that you’re fully transparent when completing your application to avoid any issues with your coverage in the future.
