Subject: Question About MetLife FMLA/STD Claim Status

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding my STD/FMLA claim. In the claim summary, there’s a note that says “Benefit Approved Through Date” with a date of 3/04/2025, but the overall status still indicates “Pending.” I’ve reached out to my case manager several times for clarification but haven’t received a callback yet.

Does this mean that my claim has been approved? Why would the status show as “Pending” despite the update?

I appreciate any insights you can provide! Thank you!

  1. Hello!

It sounds like you’re navigating a bit of a frustrating situation with your STD/FMLA claim. The “Benefit Approved Through Date” typically indicates that your claim has been approved up until that specific date, which suggests that some portion of your claim has been processed positively. However, the overall status still showing as “Pending” might mean that there are still aspects of your claim that are under review or awaiting final confirmation.

It’s not uncommon for these claims to have multiple stages of processing. Your case manager may still be evaluating details specific to your situation, or there may be additional documentation or information needed before fully clearing your claim.

I recommend continuing to follow up with your case manager or the customer service department to get clarification on what is pending and if there are any steps you need to take. Keeping a record of your calls and any correspondence can also be helpful in case you need to escalate the situation.

Best of luck, and I hope you receive the clarity you need soon!
