Rear ended someone

I was recently involved in a rear-end collision while driving a work vehicle that belongs to my employer. As a result, I received two citations for the incident. I’m wondering if the judge allows the citations to be waived and they don’t appear on my record, will my insurance still see an increase? I suspect they will, but I’m not sure since I’m not filing a claim through my personal policy. Thanks for any insights!

  1. When it comes to rear-ending someone in a work vehicle, the impact on your insurance can vary based on a few factors. Generally, since the vehicle is owned and insured by your employer, any claims related to the accident would typically be handled under the employer’s insurance policy rather than your personal insurance.

If the citations are waived and do not go on your record, your personal auto insurance should not be impacted. However, it’s important to note that the employer’s insurance may still see an increase in premiums, which could potentially affect your employment or lead to changes in your company’s insurance rates.

It would be wise to discuss this situation with your employer’s HR or risk management team, as they can provide specific details on how this might affect your employment and any related insurance implications. Additionally, consulting with an insurance professional can provide clarity on how your personal policy is affected in this scenario.
