WARNING: SUNLIFE INSURANCE (yoursimplecare) – Taxtore Miami
I first learned about SUNLIFE INSURANCE (yoursimplecare) when they were recommended to me while I was getting my taxes done at Taxtore Miami. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a huge mistake. I strongly urge anyone reading this not to share any personal information with them, especially your Social Security number. My experience has been incredibly troubling.
In 2022-2023, I provided them with my information to enroll in an Oscar Insurance plan through Obamacare. I canceled the policy at the end of 2023 and received a confirmation of the cancellation from Oscar. However, a year later, I discovered that they had used my information without my consent to re-enroll me in a 2024 plan, despite my informing them that I was no longer eligible for Obamacare. I believed everything was resolved since I received the cancellation letter and had stopped making payments. Unfortunately, Oscar allowed them to re-enroll me at a “zero” payment, which has now left me with a hefty IRS bill for “utilizing these benefits.”
This appears to be a pattern, affecting hundreds of people. After I shared my experience in a Google review, I received a call from them insisting that I needed to pay. When I confronted them about their questionable practices, the conversation was abruptly ended.
Many clients have faced IRS fines ranging from a few thousand dollars to as much as $5,000 due to similar issues.
I’m planning to report this to the IRS and file a complaint for insurance fraud with the Florida Department. I also intend to reach out to the FBI tip line. If you have fallen victim to their fraudulent activities, I strongly encourage you to take similar steps.
Please do not trust SUNLIFE INSURANCE LLC or share your personal information with them. You can find their contact information here: https://yoursimplecare.com/contact-us/. They apparently operate in several states.
A brief search of the owners’ names may reveal more about their troubling history. From my own experience and what I’ve gathered from others, I highly recommend steering clear of them. Even their phone number appears to be fake, they have multiple evictions on record, and they are simply not a company you want handling your information or business.
I’m really sorry to hear about your experience with SunLife Insurance (yourSimpleCare). It’s frustrating and concerning when companies mishandle personal information, especially when it leads to tax issues. Your decision to report this to the IRS and the Florida Department of Financial Services is a good step, and I hope it leads to some action being taken.
It’s important for others to be aware of these potential scams, especially in the insurance industry where personal data is involved. Thank you for sharing your story and warning others. If anyone else has had similar experiences, it’s crucial to speak up and report it to the necessary authorities. Please make sure to follow up on any future communications regarding this issue, and take the appropriate steps to protect your personal information moving forward. Stay vigilant!
