I recently had an MRI at the hospital and was quoted $600, which I paid before the procedure. However, two weeks later, I received a letter stating that I now owe an additional $626.

When I contacted the billing department, it turns out that the staff member who entered my insurance details mistakenly placed a decimal point incorrectly, setting my deductible at $200 instead of the actual $2000.

Now they’re insisting that I pay this unexpected amount. If I had received the accurate estimate, I would have opted for a more affordable cash-priced MRI facility located just a city away.
