Medpay Hearing Update

Tomorrow, I have an IME assessment with a Liability and N/F doctor following my whiplash injury from an 18-wheeler accident on 8/30/23. I’ve been attending bi-weekly therapy sessions with my chiropractor.

What should I anticipate during the assessment? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  1. It sounds like you’re going through a challenging time after your whiplash injury. During your Independent Medical Examination (IME), the doctor will likely assess your current condition, review your medical history, and evaluate how your injury has affected your daily life. Here are some things to expect and tips to prepare:

    1. Be Honest and Thorough: Answer all questions as truthfully and thoroughly as possible. Discuss your symptoms, how they affect your daily activities, and any treatments you’re undergoing.

    2. Bring Documentation: If you have any medical records, treatment plans, or notes from your chiropractor, bring them to the appointment. This will help provide a complete picture of your treatment history.

    3. Dress Comfortably: Wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement, as the doctor may want to assess your range of motion or perform physical tests.

    4. Stay Calm and Professional: IMEs can sometimes feel intimidating, but remember that the doctor is there to evaluate your condition. Stay calm and professional throughout the process.

    5. Ask Questions: If you’re unsure about anything during the examination, don’t hesitate to ask questions.

    6. Follow Up: After the IME, you may receive a report that could influence your case, so make sure to keep an eye on any follow-up actions you might need to take.

Best of luck with your assessment, and I hope you continue to heal and feel better!
