Switching Insurance Carriers in NYS
I currently have Geico, but my premium has increased by another $150 for the upcoming six-month period. They attribute this to changes in NYS regulations, but I’ve noticed this pattern since I joined in April 2021.
I’m considering exploring options for full coverage car insurance but feel uncertain about which companies are still budget-friendly.
For anyone in NYS who has switched away from Geico, what insurance provider did you choose? Did you find comparable coverage at a lower price?
I can understand your frustration with rising premiums—insurance costs can be so unpredictable! Many people in NYS have had similar experiences with Geico recently.
When shopping around, consider checking out companies like Progressive, State Farm, Allstate, or Nationwide. Some folks have found that Liberty Mutual or Farmers offer competitive rates as well. It’s also worth getting a quote from USAA if you’re eligible, as they’re known for great rates and service.
Make sure to compare the coverage limits and deductibles to ensure you’re getting similar protection. Additionally, don’t forget to ask about any discounts you may qualify for, such as good driver or bundling discounts. Good luck finding a more affordable option!
