Question about progressive

Question about Progressive Insurance

I currently have Progressive for my car insurance, and my payment of $800 is scheduled for March 10th. I’ve moved the payment date to March 12th. Since I plan to switch to a different insurance provider on March 10th at 9 AM, I’m wondering if I need to pay for the 9 hours of coverage I’d be using that day. If I decide to wait a few days to make the switch, will I have to pay for those extra days, or will I only be charged the full $800? Any clarification would be appreciated!

  1. When you switch insurance providers, you generally only pay for the coverage you actually use. If you’re switching on March 10th at 9 AM and your payment is scheduled for March 12th, you would typically only be responsible for the coverage from the start of your policy until you cancel it.

If you decide to cancel on March 10th, you might only need to pay for a portion of the month, depending on how Progressive calculates their premiums. It’s best to contact Progressive directly to ask about their specific policy on cancellation and prorated payments. They can provide you with information on whether you’ll be charged for just those few hours or if you have to pay for the entire month.

If you choose to delay your switch to a later date, you’ll likely be billed for the entire $800 amount, as you’d still be under their coverage. It’s good to clarify these details with them to avoid any surprises!
