State Farm totally sucks at handling claims

State Farm has been a nightmare when it comes to handling my claim.

Last year, I was involved in an auto accident where the other driver ran a red light and crashed into my truck. I filed my claim with State Farm after Integon, the other driver’s insurance, denied my claim by suggesting that I could have swerved despite traveling 45 mph on a busy four-lane road.

My adjuster straight-up misrepresented the condition of my vehicle in an attempt to lowball me with their initial offer. When I rejected it, he took away my rental car after just one day, claiming he had already made an offer. I had to invoke the appraisal clause to get a fair amount since he refused to negotiate anymore.

To make matters worse, they towed my truck to an auction lot that was an hour away from my home. Whenever I called the adjuster to ask for permission to retrieve my personal belongings from my truck, he would initially agree, but then revoke the permission when I arrived. This happened four times, wasting my time and gas.

It took State Farm three months to get a statement from me, despite my numerous follow-up calls. They never reached out to the independent witness or my passenger. After several months, Nat General ignored their request for subrogation. Eventually, I received a letter from State Farm stating that they didn’t think it was worth pursuing and that I would have to sue for compensation myself if I wanted anything.

I truly believe State Farm dropped the ball at every step. Plus, they were more expensive than most other options. Unfortunately, while Integon’s strategy of ignoring me seemed to work for a while, a personal injury attorney has now taken on both cases.

  1. I’m really sorry to hear about your experience with State Farm. It sounds incredibly frustrating, especially after dealing with the aftermath of an accident. Insurance claims can be such a headache, and it seems like they really didn’t handle your case properly. The way they treated your personal property access and the long delays must have added to your stress. It’s good to hear that you sought help from a personal injury attorney; hopefully, they can help you get the compensation you deserve. It’s unfortunate that some companies prioritize profit over customer care. Best of luck with your case moving forward!
