Enterprise Rent-a-car made a claim for damages I didn’t do. HELP!

Seeking Guidance: Unjust Damage Claim from Enterprise Rent-a-Car

Hello everyone,

I find myself in a perplexing situation and am in dire need of your insights. Earlier this year in January, I was involved in a minor fender bender, which prompted me to rent a vehicle from Enterprise. Upon returning the car, I ensured it was in the exact condition as when I received it, and the employee even conducted a walkthrough confirming there was no damage.

However, to my dismay, I was recently informed that Enterprise’s Damage Recovery Unit has filed a claim against my insurance for several thousand dollars in alleged damages. What’s more alarming is that my insurance company processed the claim and paid the amount without my prior knowledge or consultation. Consequently, I am now facing a $1,000 deductible which I am being pressured to pay within a mere ten business days, or it will be sent to collections.

Initially, I suspected fraud, which led me to hesitate in addressing the situation. Yet, I’ve come to understand that it is indeed genuine. Unfortunately, Enterprise claims that I am now too late to dispute the charges. Is there any truth to that? I would greatly appreciate any advice on how I might resolve this unfortunate predicament.

Thank you for your assistance!
