Enterprise Rent-a-car made a claim for damages I didn’t do. HELP!

Navigating False Damage Claims from a Rental Car Company: My Experience with Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out for guidance due to a frustrating situation I recently encountered with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Back in January, I was involved in a minor fender bender and decided to rent a vehicle from Enterprise. Upon returning the car, I made sure it was in the same condition as when I picked it up. In fact, the employee who conducted the post-rental inspection confirmed there was no damage.

Despite this, I was surprised to receive a notification from Enterprise’s Damage Recovery Unit claiming that I was responsible for several thousand dollars in damages. To my dismay, my insurance company processed this claim and paid the amount without consulting me first. Now, I find myself being pressured to cover a $1,000 deductible, which is quite concerning, especially since they have threatened to send this to collections if I fail to pay within the next ten business days.

Initially, I thought this was a scam and hesitated to take any action. However, it seems that it’s an actual claim. What has me perplexed is that Enterprise is stating that it is too late for me to contest this claim. Is this really the case? I am eager to find advice on the steps I should take next to address this situation. Any insights or experiences shared will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your help!
