My Experience: Why I Switched from Tesla Insurance Back to Costco
After a recent stint with Tesla insurance, I’ve made the decision to switch back to Costco for my auto coverage. Let me share my experience that led to this change.
A few weeks ago, I detailed my initial thoughts on Tesla’s insurance offerings. Unfortunately, my experience only worsened as time went on. What should have been a straightforward claim turned into a protracted ordeal that took over two months to resolve. Despite my numerous emails and voice messages, I found it nearly impossible to get a timely response from their customer support team.
Finally, after a long wait, I received my car back yesterday, thanks to the payment confirmation sent to the repair shop. I can’t help but think that my complaint to the California Department of Insurance may have had some impact on expediting the process.
Given the minimal savings I experienced by switching to Tesla insurance, the inconvenience and frustration far outweighed any financial benefits.
In conclusion, it seems that Tesla insurance is not yet fully equipped to meet the needs of its customers, leaving me to feel that my return to Costco auto was the best choice for my insurance needs.
