Paying for repairs before claim is processed? (Progressive)

Is it possible to pay for repairs before my claim is processed with Progressive? (Apologies if the flair is off)

I recently filed a claim with Progressive for damage to my car, and they informed me that I’ll hear back by the end of the next business day (Monday). However, I’ve located an auto shop that can handle the repairs today. If I decide to proceed with the repair and pay for it upfront, will my insurance reimburse me once the claim is processed?

  1. It’s great that you found a shop that can take care of your repairs right away! Generally, many insurance companies, including Progressive, allow you to pay for repairs upfront and provide reimbursement later, but there are a few things to keep in mind:

    1. Check Your Policy: Review your insurance policy or contact Progressive directly to confirm their specific process for reimbursement. Some policies may have specific procedures to follow.

    2. Documentation: Keep all receipts and documentation related to the repairs. You’ll need this to submit for reimbursement once your claim is processed.

    3. Approved Repair Shops: If possible, see if the repair shop you found is an approved vendor by Progressive. This could simplify the claims process.

    4. Claim Status: It may also be a good idea to wait for the initial assessment of your claim if possible, as they might give you details that could affect the repair process or reimbursement.

    5. Contact Customer Service: If you’re unsure, calling Progressive’s customer service can provide clarity on your options and ensure you’re following their protocols.

    Good luck with your repairs!
