Medpay hearing

Medpay Hearing

I have an IME assessment scheduled for tomorrow with a liability and N/F doctor. I sustained whiplash from being rear-ended by an 18-wheeler on August 30, 2023.

I’ve been undergoing bi-weekly therapy with my chiropractor.

What should I anticipate during the assessment? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  1. It sounds like you’re going through a lot after your accident. Here are a few things you can expect during the Independent Medical Examination (IME) and some advice:

    1. Assessment Process: The IME will likely involve a thorough review of your medical history, a physical examination, and possibly some diagnostic tests. The doctor may ask you about your symptoms, how the accident affected your daily life, and your current treatment plan.

    2. Documentation: Bring any relevant medical records, treatment notes, and documentation of your therapy sessions. This information can help the doctor understand your condition better.

    3. Be Honest: It’s important to be honest and straightforward about your symptoms and pain levels. This will help the doctor make an accurate assessment.

    4. Questions: Prepare some questions in case you have concerns about your treatment or the assessment process. Don’t hesitate to ask about anything you don’t understand.

    5. Expectations for the Report: The IME report will be shared with the insurance company and may influence your case. Be prepared for the possibility that the assessment may not fully align with your experiences.

    6. After the IME: Take note of any recommendations or follow-up steps provided by the doctor. This could be important for your ongoing treatment and recovery.

Remember to stay calm and focused during the examination. Good luck, and I hope you find relief and recovery soon!
