Insurer Shares Defendants’ Details with Victim
After I submitted a request for an insurance claim against a nonprofit due to embezzlement of my salary by their IT vendor, the insurer replied, stating they couldn’t disclose their client’s insurance information. However, they did include in their response the names of the two employees they are defending, along with the two professional liability insurance companies and two corporate fraud attorneys in the cc list.
Is this a standard process, or did the insurer inadvertently cc the embezzler and their legal team?
It seems unusual for the insurer to include the employees and their legal representation in the cc line of their response. Typically, any communication regarding an ongoing case, especially one involving sensitive issues like embezzlement, would be handled with more discretion to protect the privacy of the individuals involved.
By including those names in the cc line, it raises questions about confidentiality and whether the insurer was following proper protocol. It’s possible that it was an oversight rather than intentional. However, if you’re concerned about this apparent lack of confidentiality, you might want to reach out to the insurer for clarification or consider consulting with a legal expert who can advise you on the next steps. It’s important to ensure your information and rights are protected throughout this process.
