Damage to Rental Car from Storm
Hi everyone, I need some advice. I was recently involved in a rear-end collision, and the at-fault driver’s insurance is covering my rental car while mine is being repaired. To protect the rental from potential storm damage, I parked it under the carport. Unfortunately, a tree fell and hit the rear driver’s side door of the rental. Who is responsible for covering the damage? Is it Enterprise, my homeowner’s insurance, or my car insurance? Thanks for your help!
Storm damage to rental car

I’m sorry to hear about the situation you’re dealing with. Generally, in this case, the damage to the rental car could be covered by the insurance policy that is providing the rental vehicle. Since the other person’s insurer is covering your rental while your car is being repaired, you should contact them to report the damage and see if they will cover it.
Here are a few steps you can take:
Contact the Rental Car Company: Reach out to Enterprise to inform them of the damage and ask about their policies regarding storm damage.
Notify the Other Person’s Insurance: Since the other party’s insurance is responsible for your rental, it’s essential to inform them about the incident as they may need to address the claim.
Review Your Homeowners/Renters Insurance: Your home insurance may cover certain types of damage, but this can vary based on your policy. It’s worth checking to see if they can help.
Verify with Your Own Insurance: If you’re unsure about coverage, you can also consult your own insurance provider to see if they can assist with any potential claims.
Make sure to document the damage and any relevant details, and follow up with the involved parties as needed. Good luck!
