Can I Work for State Farm and Coldwell Banker?

Hello everyone! I’m currently working in the insurance industry, primarily focusing on property insurance. I’ve built good relationships with mortgage officers and originators, which has led to a lot of referrals. Most of my business revolves around auto and homeowner’s insurance.

I’ve been considering getting into real estate on the side. My agent is supportive of my part-time plans as long as I’m meeting my production goals, and I’ve also talked to a real estate office that is okay with me working part-time.

I’m interested in combining both fields, or at least giving it a shot. My question is: will State Farm have any issues with me being employed at Coldwell Banker?

  1. It sounds like you’re in a great position to combine your knowledge from the insurance industry with real estate! While I can’t speak for State Farm directly, many insurance companies allow their agents to engage in other business activities as long as there are no conflicts of interest and you comply with any company policies.

Since you’ve already confirmed that your real estate office is okay with your part-time involvement, it’s important to check your employment contract or speak directly with your supervisor at State Farm. They can provide clarity on any potential conflicts or issues that might arise from working with Coldwell Banker.

Keep in mind that transparency is key. If you mention your real estate work when discussing your job with State Farm, it may help avoid any misunderstandings in the future. Good luck with your endeavors in both fields!
