Got rear-ended, now my car won’t start after repairs & insurance won’t take responsibility

Title: Navigating Post-Accident Car Troubles: My Experience with Repairs and Insurance

After being rear-ended a few weeks ago, I found myself immersed in the frustrating world of car repairs and insurance claims. The accident wasn’t my fault, and I thought the process would be straightforward, especially since the other driver’s insurance admitted liability. They referred my vehicle to a repair shop to address the damage to my rear bumper and backup camera, which should have been a simple fix.

Initially, the repair shop seemed diligent in their work, albeit with some delays in communication regarding the pickup date. Eventually, the day came when I was told my car was ready for collection. However, a shocking twist awaited me: upon my arrival, I was informed that not only was the repair complete, but my vehicle no longer started. The shop claimed there was now a problem with the electrical wiring, and to add insult to injury, they asserted that this issue was unrelated to their work. To compound my frustration, I was advised to arrange for my own towing and cover the costs out of pocket.

Prior to the accident, my car was functioning perfectly. I had personally driven it to the repair shop without encountering any issues, and the diagnostics showed it was in good condition, aside from the broken backup camera that was meant to be fixed. Upon reaching out to the other driver’s insurance company for assistance, I was disheartened to learn that they felt no responsibility for the newly surfaced electrical problem, leaving me with a non-operational vehicle and unexpected expenses.

This experience raises several questions about my options moving forward. Has anyone else faced a similar situation? It feels incredibly unjust to bear the consequences of an incident that was not my fault, resulting in a car that I can no longer drive.

If you’ve navigated similar post-accident dilemmas, your insights would be greatly appreciated. How did you resolve your issues, and what advice do you have for someone in this predicament?
