Got rear-ended, now my car won’t start after repairs & insurance won’t take responsibility

Facing Challenges After an Accident: My Car Won’t Start Post-Repairs

A few weeks ago, I was involved in a rear-end collision, which resulted in me filing a claim with the at-fault driver’s insurance company. They assumed responsibility for the accident and arranged for my vehicle to be sent to one of their authorized repair shops. The primary damage was to the rear bumper and backup camera, which I expected would be quickly addressed.

Unfortunately, the repair process was not as smooth as I had hoped. The shop repeatedly delayed the pickup date, creating uncertainty about when I would have my car back. Eventually, I received the call I was waiting for: my vehicle was ready for pickup. However, upon my arrival, I was met with an unexpected surprise—the car wouldn’t start.

The repair shop explained that there was now a new problem related to the electrical wiring, claiming it wasn’t caused by their work. To add to my frustration, they informed me that I would need to arrange for towing and cover the costs myself in order to have the problem fixed elsewhere.

Before the accident, my car was in excellent working condition; I had driven it to the repair center without any issues, and there were no diagnostic problems other than the faulty backup camera that was under repair. Now, it seems I have a significant electrical issue to contend with, and the at-fault driver’s insurance has opted out, stating it’s no longer their responsibility.

As I navigate through this predicament, I find myself wrestling with questions about my options moving forward. Has anyone faced a similar situation? I would appreciate any guidance or insights on how to deal with the insurance and repair shop, as it feels overwhelmingly frustrating to be left with a non-functional vehicle due to someone else’s negligence.

If you have experience with these types of claims or any advice on how to approach this situation, your thoughts would be invaluable to me. Thank you!
