Statefarm beacon, how to prevent phone from connecting to wife’s

Troubleshooting Statefarm Drive Safe & Save Beacon: Avoiding Driver Confusion

If you’re utilizing the Statefarm Drive Safe & Save beacon to gain savings on your insurance premiums, you’re not alone. Many users, including myself, have benefited from significant discounts—up to $600 a year! My wife, impressed by the savings, decided to join in and get her own beacon. However, we typically drive her fuel-efficient car, which has led to some confusion in the app regarding who is actually driving.

The main issue we’ve encountered is that every time we use her vehicle, the app identifies me as the driver even when I’m just a passenger. This means I have to manually adjust my status in the app every single time, which is both inconvenient and time-consuming.

I’m reaching out to see if there’s a solution to this persistent problem. I’ve already attempted a few fixes, such as disabling Bluetooth before entering the car and waiting until after my wife is seated in the driver’s seat to get in. Unfortunately, these efforts haven’t yielded the desired result.

If anyone has experienced a similar issue or has discovered effective ways to prevent the Statefarm beacon from misidentifying the driver, I’d love to hear your tips or solutions. Your insights could help us enjoy our savings without the constant hassle of app adjustments!
