Got rear-ended, now my car won’t start after repairs & insurance won’t take responsibility

Car Accident Aftermath: Struggles With Repairs and Insurance Accountability

A few weeks back, I found myself in a frustrating situation after being rear-ended by another driver. Following the incident, I promptly filed a claim with the driver’s insurance company, which accepted liability for the damages. They arranged for my vehicle to be sent to an approved repair shop, where the focus was primarily on fixing the rear bumper and the backup camera.

Initially, the repair process seemed to be going smoothly, albeit with several postponed pickup dates. Eventually, I received a call notifying me that my car was ready for collection. To my dismay, upon arrival at the shop, I was informed that my vehicle would not start. The staff explained there was a new issue with the electrical wiring, but here’s the unexpected twist: they insist it’s not their responsibility, leaving me to arrange for towing and cover the repair costs myself.

Before the accident, my car was functioning flawlessly. I drove it to the repair shop without any problems and had even undergone multiple diagnostic tests that confirmed everything was in order, aside from the damaged backup camera. The only task at hand was to fix that single issue.

I reached out to the at-fault driver’s insurance in hopes of resolving this new predicament. To my surprise, they washed their hands of the situation, stating it was no longer their concern. Now, I find myself with a non-functional vehicle, an unexpected electrical problem, and a towing fee to manage—all stemming from someone else’s mishap.

This situation leaves me wondering: what are my options? Has anyone faced a similar dilemma? It certainly feels as if I’m being unfairly penalized and left with a car that’s out of commission due to circumstances beyond my control. Any insights or advice would be immensely appreciated.
