Got rear-ended, now my car won’t start after repairs & insurance won’t take responsibility

Title: Navigating the Aftermath of an Accident: My Car Won’t Start After Repairs

A few weeks ago, I found myself in an unfortunate situation when another driver rear-ended my car. Following the incident, I promptly filed a claim against the other driver’s insurance, who accepted liability for the damages caused. They arranged for my vehicle to be repaired at one of their authorized shops, focusing mainly on fixing the rear bumper and the backup camera.

Though the timeline for repairs was extended more than once, I eventually received a call informing me that my vehicle was finally ready for pickup. However, upon arriving, I received shocking news: my car would not start. The repair shop attributed this new issue to a problem with the electrical wiring but insisted it was not their fault. To add insult to injury, they informed me that I would need to tow the vehicle away at my own expense and cover the costs of the subsequent repairs.

Prior to the accident, my car was functioning perfectly. I had driven it to the repair facility without a hitch, and the shop had conducted multiple diagnostic tests that revealed no issues apart from the broken backup camera that they were supposed to fix. Now, I was left dealing with a car that wouldn’t start, faced with an unexpected electrical problem, and a towing bill that I hadn’t budgeted for.

In my conversations with the at-fault driver’s insurance, I was met with a frustrating response: they claimed it was no longer their responsibility. This left me feeling helpless and overwhelmed by the burden of a non-operational vehicle due to someone else’s negligence.

I’m reaching out to see if anyone has experienced a similar situation and what steps they took to resolve it. What options do I have moving forward? It feels incredibly unjust that I am now responsible for the repercussions of an accident caused by another party, and I would appreciate any guidance or shared experiences from those who might have faced a comparable dilemma.
