Progressive no longer writes umbrella policy in Nevada.

Progressive has stopped offering umbrella policies in Nevada. I just received a letter confirming this. I currently have both auto and home insurance with them. Does anyone have any suggestions? The primary reason I purchased the umbrella policy is still relevant.

  1. It’s unfortunate to hear that Progressive is no longer offering umbrella policies in Nevada, especially since you value that coverage. Here are a few suggestions to consider:

    1. Shop Around: Look for other insurance companies that provide umbrella policies in Nevada. Some well-known providers include State Farm, Allstate, and Geico, but it’s worth getting quotes from several insurers.

    2. Talk to Your Current Insurer: Reach out to Progressive to see if they can recommend any alternative options or if they have partnerships with other companies that might offer umbrella policies.

    3. Bundle Policies: If you find another insurer for your umbrella policy, see if you can bundle your auto and home insurance with them for potential discounts.

    4. Assess Your Coverage Needs: Review the reasons why you initially purchased the umbrella policy. Make sure to discuss these needs with any prospective insurers to ensure you get the right coverage.

    5. Consider Other Coverage Types: Depending on your situation, you might want to look into increasing the liability coverage on your auto and homeowner’s policies, particularly if you’re concerned about potential risks.

    6. Consult an Insurance Agent: If you’re feeling overwhelmed, consider speaking with an independent insurance agent. They can help you navigate your options and find the best coverage for your needs.

Hopefully, you’ll be able to find an umbrella policy that meets your needs!
