Seeking Standalone EPLI Coverage
My current workers’ compensation provider does not offer EPLI or E&O policies in California. The company that handles my general liability coverage only includes EPLI as part of a workers’ comp policy. Is anyone aware of options for obtaining a separate policy exclusively for EPLI or E&O? I’d prefer not to switch my WC policy if possible, as it seems to be the only provider compatible with my payroll service. Thanks in advance for any insights!
Yes, you can absolutely get standalone Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) and Errors & Omissions (E&O) coverage in California. Many insurance providers offer these policies separately, so you don’t necessarily have to change your workers’ compensation provider to obtain this coverage.
To find the right policy, consider contacting insurance brokers who specialize in commercial insurance. They can help you compare different insurers. It’s also a good idea to review the specific coverage options available under standalone EPLI and E&O policies, as well as their limits and exclusions.
Additionally, since you’d prefer to maintain your current workers’ compensation policy, ensure that the providers you consider for EPLI and E&O coverage are compatible with your existing insurance setup. Good luck!
