Slightly Frustrated with State Farm
I recently experienced a minor fender bender in a parking lot. The other driver was turning onto the main drive while I was passing a stopped car, which made me harder to see. I ended up with a small scrape on my left front bumper, and the other driver sustained a similar minor scrape. The estimated damage for each vehicle is around $1,000.
After exchanging information, I found out the other driver is an attorney who works with State Farm. I had a camera in my car, but since the impact occurred on the side, the footage didn’t capture the collision itself.
I submitted my information and the video to State Farm, and to my surprise, they responded within a day. However, I was informed that their determination was inconclusive and that neither party was at fault, resulting in both of us having to pay our deductibles.
It feels like State Farm quickly opted for the outcome that would cost them the least, especially considering how fast they reached their decision.
I can understand why you’re feeling annoyed about this situation. It’s frustrating when you expect a clear resolution, especially when you have evidence, and it turns out inconclusive. It sounds like State Farm’s decision wasn’t what you hoped for, especially given that the other driver had a connection to the company. I know that insurance companies often have to weigh all factors, but it can feel unfair when it seems like they’re prioritizing their bottom line over a fair assessment. Have you considered discussing the outcome with a State Farm representative to get more clarity on their reasoning? Sometimes a follow-up can help shed light on the decision and may even prompt them to review the case more closely.
