Can you liability insurance during bankruptcy?

Can I switch to liability insurance during bankruptcy?

I’m currently going through bankruptcy and have decided to surrender my car. I have full coverage on it, but since I’m not using the car until it’s picked up, I was wondering if I can change my insurance to liability only. This would really help me save money. Thanks for your help!

  1. Yes, you can usually downgrade your insurance from full coverage to liability during bankruptcy, especially if you’re not using the car. It’s a good idea to check your insurance policy and discuss your options with your insurance provider, as they can guide you on the process and any implications. Just make sure that you maintain the required insurance coverage under state law and that it aligns with any agreements you have with the bankruptcy court. It might also be wise to consult your bankruptcy attorney to ensure that you’re making the best decision for your situation.
