Question About My Progressive Insurance

I have my car insurance with Progressive, and my payment of $800 is scheduled to come out on Monday, March 10th. I’ve moved that payment to the 12th, and I’m planning to switch to a different insurance provider on March 10th at 9 AM. My question is, will I need to pay for the 9 hours of coverage I would be using on that day? If I decide to delay my switch, will I be charged for just the few extra days or the full $800? Thanks for your help!

  1. When you switch insurance providers, you typically only pay for the coverage period you’ve used. Since your payment is scheduled to come out on March 12th, if you switch on March 10th, you may still be responsible for the pro-rated amount for the hours of coverage you used that day.

It’s best to reach out to Progressive’s customer service directly to clarify your specific situation. They can provide you with the precise details regarding how they handle cancellations and payments. If you choose to wait a few days to switch, you would likely pay for the full amount based on your current policy, so consider what works best for you financially.
