I first heard about SUNLIFE INSURANCE (yoursimplecare) when I was getting my taxes done at Taxtore Miami, as they recommended this company. Regrettably, this turned out to be a serious error. If you’re reading this, I strongly urge you not to share any personal information, especially your Social Security number, with them. My experience has been incredibly troubling.
In 2022, I provided them with my details to enroll in an Oscar Insurance plan through Obamacare. I canceled this policy at the end of 2023 and received a cancellation confirmation from Oscar. However, a year later, I was shocked to find out they had re-enrolled me in a 2024 plan without my consent, despite me informing them I was no longer eligible for Obamacare. I assumed everything was resolved when I stopped making payments and received the cancellation notice. To my dismay, Oscar allowed them to re-enroll me at a “zero” payment, resulting in a hefty IRS bill for “utilizing these benefits.”
This situation has reportedly affected hundreds of people. After posting a review on Google, I received a phone call from them, during which they simply demanded payment. When I confronted them about their deceptive practices, they abruptly ended the call.
Many other clients have experienced similar issues, facing IRS fines ranging from a few thousand dollars to as much as $5,000.
I plan to report this matter to the IRS and file a complaint for insurance fraud with the Florida Department. I encourage anyone else who has fallen victim to this fraud to do the same.
