Scared that I might get dropped from Allstate (CA)

Concerned about my coverage with Allstate (CA)

I’ve had three claims in just two months—two were not my fault. The first was a minor fender bender that’s still under investigation, and the second unfortunately resulted in my car being totaled.

Allstate determined that I was completely not at fault for the second accident and compensated me for my car. I just got a new vehicle, but I’m worried that replacing my totaled car might lead to Allstate dropping me or significantly increasing my rates. Will any of this impact my renewal in six months, especially with one claim still open?

  1. I understand your concerns about potentially being dropped by Allstate or facing higher rates due to your recent claims. Insurance companies often evaluate risk based on the claims history of their policyholders, and having multiple claims in a short period could raise some red flags. Since two of your claims were not at fault and you’ve been compensated appropriately, that could work in your favor.

Typically, an insurance company considers various factors when determining whether to renew a policy or adjust rates, including your claims history, the nature of the claims, and how they align with your overall risk profile. The open investigation may not immediately impact your rates until it’s resolved, but it’s possible that your renewal premium could reflect your recent claims.

It’s a good idea to keep an eye on your policy renewal date and stay in communication with Allstate. You could also consider shopping around for quotes from other insurance providers to understand your options better. Make sure to also ask Allstate directly about how your claims might influence your policy moving forward—they may provide clarity and reassurance. Remember, maintaining a clean driving record moving forward will help improve your risk profile over time.
