Amazon Sprinter Van Hit and Run

Amazon Sprinter Van Hit and Run Incident

I was parked at work when an Amazon sprinter van backed into my car in the parking lot. Fortunately, I have a video of the incident from the surveillance cameras at my workplace. I filed a claim with my insurance, but after 7 months, they decided to close my case, claiming there isn’t enough evidence and that they can’t locate the other party. I have a clear license plate and video evidence, so this is frustrating!

I’ve tried reaching out to Amazon directly since my insurance hasn’t been helpful, but they’ve also been difficult to deal with. Does anyone have any advice? I’m just trying to get my deductible back, but it feels like no one is taking responsibility. This is really frustrating!

  1. I’m really sorry to hear about your situation; it sounds incredibly frustrating. Here are a few steps you might consider taking:

    1. Gather Evidence: Ensure you have all your documentation organized, including the video evidence, the license plate number, any photographs of the damage to your car, and any correspondence with your insurance and Amazon.

    2. Re-contact Your Insurance: Sometimes speaking to a different representative can make a difference. Ask to escalate the matter to a supervisor or a claims manager. Present your evidence again and explain why you believe they should reopen your case.

    3. Reach Out to Amazon Again: Try contacting Amazon’s customer service for their logistics or delivery department. Be persistent and ask for a specific contact related to claims or damage caused by their vehicles. Provide all the necessary evidence you have.

    4. File a State Complaint: If you’re still not getting anywhere, consider filing a complaint with your state’s Department of Insurance. They might be able to help facilitate communication between you and your insurance company.

    5. Consider Legal Action: If all else fails, you could consult with a lawyer who specializes in auto accidents or insurance disputes. They can advise you on the possibility of pursuing a claim directly against Amazon or your insurance company.

    6. Document Everything: Keep detailed records of all your communications and attempts to resolve the issue; this will be valuable if you need to escalate the situation.

Stay persistent and don’t lose hope; companies can sometimes be slow to respond, but don’t hesitate to advocate for yourself. Good luck!
