Can I sign up with Direct Auto if I owe All State money?

Can I sign up with Direct Auto if I still owe money to Allstate?

I was with Allstate for about a year, but they doubled my rates, so I decided not to renew. I still owe them around $115. After switching to another company, I found my rates raised again, even though I left Allstate on good terms. Now I’m looking to sign up with Direct Auto because their quote is quite appealing. However, I saw that their payment page mentions “An Allstate brand.” If I proceed with them, could there be any issues, like getting canceled or something similar?

  1. It’s understandable to have concerns about signing up with Direct Auto given your situation with Allstate. Since Direct Auto is considered an Allstate brand, there is a possibility that they may have access to your claims and payment history with Allstate.

Typically, insurance companies do take into account any outstanding debts when you apply for a new policy. However, if you left Allstate in good standing aside from the outstanding payment, it might not necessarily prevent you from signing up with Direct Auto. To avoid any surprises, it would be best to reach out to Direct Auto’s customer service directly and explain your situation. They should be able to provide clarity on whether the outstanding balance will affect your application and help you understand any potential consequences.

    Good luck!
