Pip settlement

PIP Settlement Update

Hi everyone, I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to share my experience regarding my accident back in November. I enlisted the help of a lawyer who referred me to a clinic for therapy. I attended sessions three times a week for several months, and I just wrapped up my treatment today.

I received a call from my lawyer saying he received a check from my insurance, but I’m concerned about how this will impact my insurance rates. Does this mean my insurance is taking responsibility for the accident? Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  1. Hi! I understand your concern about the settlement and how it might impact your insurance. Generally, if your insurance company is issuing a check as part of a settlement, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re taking fault for the accident. Instead, this could be part of a process where they’re covering your medical expenses or compensating for damages.

It’s important to clarify with your lawyer what the check represents and how it may affect your future insurance premiums or claims. They should be able to provide you with specific information tailored to your situation and Maryland laws. If you’re still unsure, consider discussing your concerns directly with your insurance agent as well. They’ll be able to guide you on any potential implications for your policy.
